Our trained teaching staff offers recreational Gymnastics instruction that focuses on appropriate body positioning and foundation skills for beginning to advanced levels.   We offer training in three gymnastics events: floor exercise, balance beam, and vault.

FLOOR:

Our facility offers a large mat cover area on  a shock absorbing floor design that provides a small amount of extra height when compressed and softer landings for extra safety.  Gymnasts are taught tumbling skills, as well as jumps, dance elements, acrobatic skills, turns, and pivots.  As students progress, they are encouraged to string combinations of skills together to create gymnastic routines set to music.

BALANCE BEAM:

Gymnasts performs skills consisting of dance elements, leaps, acrobatic skills, and turns all on a padded beam. The event requires balance, poise, strength, and flexibility.  Skills learned in the floor exercise are easily applicable to this event, although they do require an increased degree of accuracy due to the narrow surface on which they are performed.

Our facility offers three balance beams, at three different heights.  Students get more time on the beam through simultaneous practices as well as providing students with a beam height appropriate to their skill level.

VAULT:

Beginning students are encouraged to learn the timing and technique of the springboard, advancing to simple mounting of the vaulting platform, and progressing from there as their skills develop.  For the more advanced student different air-born maneuvers are possible mid-flight.  The landing goal is to land on two feet without  stepping.
